Mask Mandate Deemed “Unlawful” CTC Returns to Optional Mask Usage

November 10, 2021

We have been informed that the Pennsylvania Department of Health’s Mask Mandate for public school entities has been deemed unlawful by the PA Commonwealth Court.  In response to this decision and in line with our Health and Safety Plan, the CTC will immediately return to optional face masks or shields for all students, staff, and visitors to CTC facilities.  Masks are welcome and encouraged but not required.

Also, please be aware that the federal mask mandate for busses and mass transportation remains in place and masks or shields must be worn on busses.

To repeat, effective immediately, all students, staff, and visitors inside CTC facilities may choose to wear face masks or shields at their discretion.

Please be aware that the DOH may appeal the decision or take other legal action at any time in the future that may re-impose the masking requirement.

Thank you for your continued participation in keeping our school and our community safe and healthy!
