The Lancaster County Career & Technology Center was informed today that Conestoga Valley High School will be closed through September 21.
Full-time LCCTC students from Conestoga Valley School District will continue to attend classes at the CTC during the CV High School closure. However, half-day LCCTC students from CVSD must stay home for the duration of the closure. Transportation for full-time LCCTC students from Conestoga Valley High School will be provided. Full-day students who drive themselves to campus or who are dropped off may continue to do so.
Half-day students from Conestoga Valley should log onto their LCCTC email accounts and watch for communications from their instructors. Online instruction will continue for half-day CV students on the Canvas Learning Management System during the shutdown.
Conestoga Valley SD reported that they were able “to effectively identify and quarantine individuals who ran the risk of contracting the virus.” The school district released a statement today saying that CV’s Pandemic Team followed a process of data collection and contact tracing that determined that three confirmed coronavirus exposures and one probable case “originated at a gathering outside of school.” According to the announcement, Conestoga Valley High School is closing for five to seven days due to recommendations from state guidelines.
The LCCTC remains committed to the safety and wellbeing of our students and staff. We continue to rely on the LCCTC families to self-evaluate and determine their student’s current wellbeing before reporting to campus each day. Conforming to the Health and Safety Plan that the LCCTC enacted in August remains our best defense against infection.
Thank you for your continued cooperation and be safe!
