To the Adult Students of the Lancaster County CTC,

The post-secondary programming at the Lancaster County Career & Technology Center has been evolving to cope in the challenging and constantly changing circumstances we all are currently facing.  This is an update on the LCCTC Adult Education programs.

The following Adult Education programs have begun offering online instruction options:

  • Intergenerational Programs:
    • Medical Assistant
    • Dental Assistant
    • Plumbing
    • Early Childhood Education
    • Medical Administrative Assistant
  • Adult Programs
    • Practical Nursing
  • Associate Degree (AST) Programs
    • Dental Hygiene, Associate Degree Program
    • Veterinary Technology Associate Degree Program

Automotive Technology Certificate and Associate Degree (AST) programs and the Advanced Welding and Welding Technology programs will move to virtual instruction on Monday, April 6.  Instructors are contacting students to ensure that they have the technology and resources they need to continue instruction online.

Day and Evening Practical Nursing programs are currently running virtually with instruction via web conference and online assignment management. The content of the program has not changed, just the method that we use to deliver the curriculum.

At this time, we plan to continue with a Virtual Orientation event for Practical Nursing Classes 46 and 157 in April. We will provide these students with specific information in order to move forward with enrollment.

Commercial Driver’s License training and testing and Heavy Equipment Operator training have been challenging to provide through online instruction.  There are classroom portions of the curriculum that we are working to provide online.  However, much of our CDL and HEO operations need PennDOT facilities to be open to issue permits and other licensure so that the CTC can offer full programming.

As of today, the April CDL class will start May 4.  Our HEO class is still scheduled to begin as planned on May 4.  We hope to restart the March CDL class at some point in the future.  These dates may change in coming days.

All other short-term LCCTC programs are on hold.  When our campuses reopen, schedules will be created for students who were impacted by the shutdown to make up their hours or start over with an upcoming class.

We will be in contact in the future with further updates and changes.  Thank you for your flexibility and patience throughout this outbreak.
