A Message from our Administrative Director:

To maintain open lines of communication regarding school safety, We wanted to provide insight into recent incident that has led to the closing of our school for the day on Friday, March 8, and the transition to a virtual learning environment.

On Thursday, March 7, we received several reports from students, parents, and the Safe2Say program regarding a potential threat against our school via social media. Ensuring the safety and well-being of our students and staff is our top priority. Upon receiving these reports, we immediately contacted local law enforcement to investigate the situation.

As a precautionary measure and in consultation with law enforcement, the decision was made  to close the school for the day. Students will engage in virtual learning to ensure continuity in their education. Students who experience any technology issues during this event should discuss the situation with their teachers upon their return to school. LCCTC staff will work with students to make sure all work can be completed.

We understand that incidents like these can be unsettling, and we want to assure you that we are taking every necessary step to address the situation. We are working closely with law enforcement to ensure the safety of our school community.

This instance clearly illustrates the importance of reporting any concerning or suspicious behaviors. These reports allow the LCCTC administration to address any safety concerns proactively. We encourage parents to speak with their children about the importance of reporting any concerning behavior they may encounter online or in person. Our partnership with parents and the community is vital in maintaining a safe and secure learning environment.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation. We will continue to provide updates as we receive more information, and we anticipate a normal opening Monday at the conclusion of this matter.

If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact the school office.
