Bright Horizons to Maintain Operations in Mount Joy During Appeal of State Revocation
WILLOW STREET, PA – Bright Horizons Mount Joy Early Learning Center, located at the Mount Joy campus of the Lancaster County Career & Technology Center (LCCTC), will continue operations while appealing the revocation of its operating license by Pennsylvania’s Office of Child Development and Early Learning (OCDEL). We were disappointed with the state’s decision and are determined to appeal as vigorously as possible. Bright Horizons and the LCCTC have worked together for over ten years, collaborating to provide a high-quality, hands-on learning environment for our early childhood education students.
The Mount Joy Early Learning Center has conformed to a state-required, corrective action plan since November, 2019. While we cannot comment on the event that initiated the corrective action plan, the learning center has operated since then in good faith that it was meeting plan’s requirements and maintaining a favorable operating status.
We will request an appeal of the ruling and the learning center will continue to operate without any interruption of service while the appeal is in progress. Staff, faculty, and families affiliated with the learning center have been notified about the situation. We hope to bring the situation to a conclusion as soon as possible with no impact to the community.
