Join us for an evening of good food, local wine, craft beer, and fun to benefit the New Choices Career Development Program on April 7, 2017, at the Willow Valley Communities Cultural Center.
Culinary students from the Lancaster County Career & Technology Center will be serving heavy appetizers and desserts and will be competing in a savory and sweet contest in which guests will taste and vote on their favorites! The winning students will be awarded medals.
Come ready to relax and browse the many items in our Chinese and silent auctions while listening to soft jazz. A special program will be offered that will feature some of our successful students who turned their lives around thanks to New Choices!
Tickets are $75 pp for general admission and $100 pp to be a Friend of New Choices (includes your name listed in the event program). Tickets purchased after March 17 are $90 pp; no Friends level will be offered after this date.
All proceeds benefit the New Choices Career Development Program, which has been successfully aiding women in transition for over 30 years and over 5,000 women served t o find economic and emotional independence. The label ‘women in transition’ can apply to single mothers; recently divorced or widowed women who must re-enter the job force, perhaps for the first time in years; laid-off workers; or anyone who is seeking a change and sees a discrepancy between where they are and where they wish to be in life. The goal of New Choices is to help our students to learn to value themselves as individuals, take responsibility for their own lives, and break the cycle of poverty, which destroys not only them and their children but has significant negative effects on the community as a whole.
